So you’re probably wondering what I mean by painting the wall, well you’re about to find out.
10 students in the 5/6 area were chosen to go to the construction site of the Monash Children’s Hospital to paint the barriers around it. First, we had to come up with a pencil design. Angelina had a lot to do with this part.
Next we did a chalk copy on brown paper to work on our colours.
When we got to the hospital, we had a look around. The boards were white so there was no need for a background to be painted We started off with a pencil drawing, and then filled it in with paint. Lots of other schools did very colourful designs, but I really liked ours.
We had our big wishing pot, out of it came big bubbles, and inside were paintings of what the children may want and wish for in hospital. Such as, going to the park or beach.
Everyone from our school was really good at painting.
We were even lucky enough to get an interview with one of the lady’s organising the event.
Overall, I know that everyone had an amazing day. And the best part is, when the construction is finished, our painting will be kept in the hospital.
