Grades 1 & 2 – Organic and Geometrical Shapes

The Grade 1s and 2s have been exploring and learning about organic and geometrical shapes in art.  They made artwork using a combination of these shapes on an A3 piece of coloured paper.  Using their cutting skills, the students cut out different shapes out of coloured paper to stick onto the paper.  They mirrored the shapes with the paper that they cut it from to create stunning artwork!

Here are some pictures of the great artwork that the children made:

Finger painting on shapes

This was one of the first pieces of art that the Preps created this year!  The Prep children fingerprinted around geometric shapes using the primary colours.  Grade 6 buddies then created cartoon characters from the shapes by adding some cute  and funny physical features.  They look so playful!
